Singer Kas offers $2,000 to anyone who finds his missing camera

The camera is not worth $2, 000 but the UK based Nigerian singer is offering that amount to anyone who finds the missing camera. He said he lost it in December at a Night club.

Kas said:

"That digital camera contains my private stuff that I am not ready to share with the public. I’ll give $2,000 to anyone or group of persons who are in its possession,”

Some mischievous people are alleging that there are some nude photos of the crooner and a Nollywood actress in the camera, that's why he's so desperate to get it back. Haha! Hmmmm...Wonder who the actress is?

Lance Armstrong admits doping to Oprah

Lance Armstrong told Oprah during the first of a two-part interview Thursday night, that he doped throughout his career and might not have been caught if not for his comeback in 2009. His longtime friend and training partner George Hincapie, who was along for the ride on all his Tour de France wins from 1999-2005, was forced to give him up to anti-doping authorities.

Lance also admitted that he was the ring leader of the US Postal Service doping team .

''I'm a flawed character,'' he said.

Pictures: President Jonathan’s visit to Police College, Ikeja

President Jonathan yesterday afternoon made a surprise visit to the Police College, Ikeja, days after Channels TV exposed the shameful state of the college. The president was actually on his way to an ECOWAS meeting in the Ivory Coast when his plane was diverted to Ikeja.

He immediately proceeded on an inspection tour of the hostels, college kitchen, dining hall and the Officers’ Mess. Then he demanded to know how Channels TV gained access to the college to film the embarrassing condition of the college. No one had an answer for him. He promised to revamp the college after declaring that the documentary by Channels was a smear campaign.

He said:

“This is a calculated attempt to damage the image of this government. The Police College, Ikeja is not the only training institution in Nigeria."

“Life has been unfair to me”. This was the statement that greeted this reporter as he approached 19-year-old Chidi Okolie, who is currently going through psychological trauma following an act of gang-rape on him, Monday, in Badagry area of Lagos.

Chidi, as gathered, left his home town in Izzih local government area of Ebonyi state for Lagos, two years ago, in search of greener pasture, following the demise of his parents.  The death of his parents, reportedly forced him to drop out of school.

But determined to irk a living, he decided to come to Lagos, where he started hawking along the Mile two- Badagry expressway.

Two Legon students die in accident

Two female students of the University of Ghana are reported dead when a garbage truck smashed their vehicle near the university.

The truck is said to have run into a taxi cab the students boarded, killing them on the spot. The taxi driver sustained serious degrees of injury and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital. The two students whose names were given as Ms. Debbie Akosua Benaya and Ms. Lordina Fobih are all level 100 students of the University of Ghana.

Zimbabwean Vice President John Landa Nkomo is dead!

Zimbabwean Vice President John Landa Nkomo has died aged 79.

Nkomo, who has been battling cancer, died at around noon Thursday, presidential spokesman George Charamba said.

“I can confirm that Vice President Nkomo has sadly passed away,” Charamba said.

Zanu PF national chairman Simon Khaya Moyo said Nkomo was rushed to Harare’s St Annes Hospital on Wednesday night after his conditition “deteriorated”.

Boko Haram Leader, Malam Shekau, in Mali With Islamist Rebels

Security agencies have discovered that the leader of the Boko Haram Islamic sect, Abubakar Shekau, who was wounded in a gun duel between soldiers of the Joint Task Force and members of his sect early this year, is hiding in Gao, a city in Northern Mali, receiving treatment from the Tuareg rebels.

Military Intelligence sources told Saturday Tribune on Friday that Shekau was ferried to Mali through porous routes in the vast Nigerian border with a neighbouring country in the north.

The source cited the discovery of Shekau’s hideout and the training base for Boko Haram sect members to unleash terror on Nigerians as a further justification of the action of the Federal Government to deploy 1,200 troops as well as Airforce fighter and transport aircraft to Mali to help flush out the Tuareg militants and their sponsors.

Gosh! This is the disgraceful state of the Nigeria Police College, Ikeja, Lagos...the first police college in the country, built in 1940.

Channels TV exposed the terrible conditions of the dormitories at the training college where recruits spend months to get training to become police officers. The condition of the hostels, the bathrooms, and even the way they feed is so appalling. N150 daily meal allowance. There has been no major development at the college since it was built in the 40's except for a few renovations. They even still use (type-writer). Theo Walcott signs new long-term deal with Arsenal

Arsenal Football Club is delighted to announce that Theo Walcott has signed a new long-term contract.

The 23-year-old has already made 244 first team appearances since joining Arsenal from Southampton in January 2006, during which time he has scored 56 goals.

18 human heads shipped from Rome seized up at Chicago airport

A shipment of 18 human heads, still covered in skin, was held at Chicago O'Hare International Airport by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.

Customs officials halted the heads for investigation before handing them over to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

"We are involved because they can't store them any longer," Tony Brucci, chief of investigations at the medical examiner's office told ABC News. "We'll be examining the heads in the autopsy room today, but there is no foul play suspected in the collection of the heads." 

The heads were en route to a research facility near Chicago, but there was a glitch in the paperwork.

"They were all properly preserved and tagged for the purpose of anatomical study," Brucci said. "The paperwork just isn't properly done."

Researchers in Rome had been using the embalmed heads but shipped them to the United States for cremation at a facility near Chicago.

"The crematory has done nothing wrong. In fact, they were just here to hand all the paperwork over, and we're satisfied everything is on the up-and-up," Brucci told ABC News. "We are releasing them back to the crematory soon." Continue after the cut...

Immigration Comptroller General, Rosemary Chinyere Uzoma, retired from service

Mrs. Rosemary Chinyere Uzoma, the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), was on Tuesday January 15, 2013 retired from the service following the controversy that trailed the recruitment exercise of the agency.

A letter conveying her retirement was signed by the Minister of Interior and Chairman of CDFIPB, Comrade Abba Moro. Mrs Uzoma will be temporarily replaced by her deputy, Mr. Rilwan Bala Musa, pending when the agency gets a new Comptroller General.

3 men beaten and stripped naked in Imo State for allegedly being gay

The three men above were stripped naked and allegedly beaten on Monday January 14th, in Ekwe, near Umuka in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State for supposedly being homosexuals.

A group, the Nigeria HIV Info, dedicated to the protection of the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS, sent out a statement alerting people about the incident and condemning the act.

In the statement signed by the group's cordinator, Steve Aborisade, the group said it has “reliably confirmed and authenticated the incident and of the identity of one of the men.”

Mr. Aborisade called on security agents to respond to the plight of the men.

“As it is, only the perpetrators and the community can tell the whole world what has become of these men who were seriously beaten up, stripped naked and paraded around the community bounded together like animals on allegation that they were caught having sex together,” Mr. Aborisade said.

Mr. Aborisade said a reliable source “reliably confirmed that the men were yet to be released from the location where they are being held in Umuka, Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State.” Continue after the cut...

Jonathan Orders Deployment of War Planes to Mali

Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Alex Barde, said the Nigerian Airforce will commence deployment of Nigeria war planes to check the activities of jihad fighters in Mali on Thursday morning. Barde said the action was in compliance to President Jonathan’s directive that military contingent be sent to assist the country to contain the jihad fighters in Mali.

Said he; “As I speak to you now our air planes have arrived in Port-Harcourt and tomorrow morning we are beginning our deployment to Mali.

“We expect them to do what Mr. President directed that we do; he has directed that we should go and assist Mali in repelling the jihad fighters there because you know that if they finish with Mali the next thing will be to come to Nigeria. “So we are going there to fight them and also protect our borders.
