“My Husband Does Not Sleep at Night Anymore” – NSCDC Commandant’s Wife

It was reported that the wife of the ridiculed NSCDC Commandant who was involved in the crazy “My Oga at the Top” Video protested at the studio of Channels TV over the damages that the viral video caused to their family.

She cried and said that her kids are being ridiculed at school by their classmates.

Even her neighbors and fellow market women make fun of her everyday as well.

She also said that her husband, NSCDC Commandant Obafaiye Shem, cries at night and could not sleep anymore due terrible embarrassment.

Before the woman came to protest at the TV station, her husband already received a call about his suspension.

Another rape? Swiss tourist gang-raped in India

A Swiss woman who was on a cycling trip in central India with her husband has been gang-raped by eight men, police said yesterday. The attack comes three months after the fatal gang-rape of a woman aboard a New Delhi bus outraged Indians.

Authorities detained and questioned 13 men in connection with the latest attack, which occurred Friday night as the couple camped out in a forest in Madhya Pradesh state after bicycling from the temple town of Orchha, local police officer R.K. Gurjar said.

The men beat the couple and gang-raped the woman, he said. They also stole the couple's mobile phone, a laptop computer and 10,000 rupees ($185).

400-member homosexual club found in Benue State

As Benue state continues to grapple with the rising figures of HIV/AIDS in the state, Executive Secretary of the Benue State Agency for the Control of Aids (BENSACA), Mrs. Grace Wende has revealed that the agency recently discovered a 400-member homosexuals club existing in Makurdi the Benue state capital.

She said the organisation otherwise known as Men Sleeping with Men, MSM, has a large membership of male students from higher institutions in the state.

Wende who made this disclosure yesterday at a one day Training of Media Practioners on HIV/AIDS in Makurdi, said the existence of the gay club in the state was not helping the state government’s efforts at curbing the spread of the HIV virus in the state.

Lawyer paid $500 to derail APC of Nigeria’s progressives

A Nigerian lawyer, Nwokorie Samuel Chinedu has revealed that he was paid N80,000, about $500, in two instalments by a PDP youth leader, to inform the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC about the intention of the controversial African Peoples Congress (APC), to seek registration.

Nwokorie, told TheNation newspaper that he was hired by Ugochinyere Ikenga sometime in February to file the application – an action which has introduced a discomforting twist to the fusion of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and Congres for Progressive Change (CPC), into a new party, the All Progressives Party (APC).

The copy-cat “APC” is believed to be a creation of the PDP to throw a spanner in the works for the real APC.

Yoruba totally ungrateful people - Ahmadu Ali

Former chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Colonel Ahmadu Ali (retd) has some harsh words for Yoruba people of South West. According to him, the Yoruba are “ungrateful kind of people,” who does not appreciate what others have done for them. He is particularly pained that the Yoruba do not appreciate what former President Olusegun Obasanjo did for them.

The former chairman of the PDP also said that the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) does not constitute a threat to the powers and authority of the President.

In this interview, Ali revealed how those he described as self-appointed Yoruba leaders have disappointed him. He spoke on these and other issues.

Aseme's family managed to contact the abductors who demanded N8m ransom, which the family paid but Emeka was not released to them. On the 9th of March, the men who took the hotelier contacted his younger brother and directed him to go to a community between Owerri and Oguta called Okwonji, to find him brother. Emeka's decomposed body was found in a bush path, with his sexual organ, eyes and the heart plucked out.

Oga at the Top NSCDC Lagos Commandant Suspended!

The Lagos commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC), Mr. Obafaiye Shem, who has become infamous for not knowing the website of his organization while being interviewed on Channels TV has been suspended from office. His suspension was effected by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The Oga at the Top video has gone viral and brought embarrassment to Nigeria with even Piers Morgan of CNN having a go at the joke.

In the video, Mr. Obafaiye Shem tried to cover up his ignorance of his organization's website by saying that it would be revealed by his oga at the top. This video has till date sparked a T-Shirt campaign, a music video and a remix tape.

Kidnapped foreign hostages killed in Bauchi

An Islamic group called Ansaru, learnt they broke away from Boko Haram, and their own is to kidnap and kill foreign workers. The Islamist jihadist militant group claimed their group kidnapped the seven Setraco workers on Saturday February 16th in Bauchi.

Ansaru which is head for the Protection of Muslims in Black Africa claimed they had killed the foreign hostages, and then released a video on Monday March 11th showing some of the corpses of the slain hostages.

Youth corper asked to leave NYSC camp for refusing to wear trousers

Reactions have started trailing the decamping of 2013 Batch A, female corps member, Ms Tolu Ekundayo, by the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Ogun State for wearing skirt at the Shagamu orientation camp.

In a press conference organised by Ekundayo’s church, Faith Revival Apostolic Church, FRAC, in Lagos, the expelled corps member  said she was asked to leave the camp at about 11.00pm on March 8, 2013 by the Ogun State NYSC Co-ordinator, for her refusal to put on trousers.

She explained that her refusal to wear trousers was not in disobedience to NYSC authorities but in line with her belief and faith in God.

Nigerian man jailed 14yrs for trafficking teenagers from the UK to Europe for prostitution

A Nigerian man has been jailed for 14 years for his role in the 'horrific' ordeal of two teenage girls being trafficked via London to work as prostitutes in mainland Europe.

A court heard Odosa Usiobaifo, 35, from Enfield, north London, was involved in a 'significant' organised crime gang trafficking young women for the purposes of sexual exploitation.

Usiobaifo was arrested after two Nigerian girls missing from local authority care in London were given false passports and tickets and placed on a flight to Spain. Read more after the cut...

Singer Atorise back in Nigeria after being shot and hospitalized in South Africa

Gospel singer Lanre Teriba, popularly known as Atorise was shot by armed robbers in South Africa on February 15, 2013 while there for a concert. He was attacked immediately after the show by unknown gunmen who robbed him and shot him in the leg. He was taken to Steve Biko Hospital in Pretoria South Africa where he had a successful surgery and was discharged recently. He returned to Nigeria today

Pictures: Accident on 3rd mainland bridge this morning

The accident happened around 11.45 am today. It was caused by a red saloon car which was loaded with foodstuff. The saloon car lost control and hit an SUV, causing the SUV to somersault. Fortunately no one was injured in the accident according to an eye witness.
