000 for transportation to Lagos. He came and after the rendezvous was paid the

developing branches but lo and behold the partner was nowhere to be found!

Akwa Ibom State Deputy Governor Resigns
According to TheWill
report, Akwa Ibom State Deputy Governor Mr. Nsima Ekere has resigned from
office with immediate effect.
TheWill said Ekere tendered
his resignation letter this morning after he was tipped of an advanced plot to
begin impeachment proceedings against him on Thursday, following heightened
tension between himself and Governor Godswill Akpabio over his governorship
ambition in 2015.
Political analysts in
Akwa Ibom say Akpabio is backing his current SSG as his successor in 2015.

The Williams sisters, Serena and Venus Wednesday shed light
on the insinuations that they were from Nigeria, when they said that they were
proud to be American citizens.
Speaking to a
reporter at the Federal Palace Hotel, Venus, in a response to a question on
their true origin, said that while they love Nigeria, the fact was that they
were from the United States of America.
She said “This is another country that we would love to
come from but we are from the United States and are proud to be from there as
well”, said Venus
On their mother’s
decision to name their late sister, Yetunde, after a Nigerian, Venus said that
it was because of the mum’s love for Africa. “My mum named my late sister after
an Africa name because she loves Africa and that is all to it”, she said.

Ripples of Hurricane Sandy may hit Lagos within a week - Government
The Lagos State Government on Tuesday warned residents of the
state to prepare for the ripple effect of Hurricane Sandy in the state.
The Commissioner for Waterfront Development and Infrastructure,
Mr. Adesegun Oniru, said the government was projecting that within seven to 14
days, the state would experience the ripple effect of the hurricane in its
coast lines.
He explained that the government based its projection on,
“experience, records and study of past happenings” and had started taking
precautionary measures.
Oniru said, “This warning is not to cause panic in Lagos, but to
place us all on alert that if we notice anything unusual in our coast lines, we
should not go near the waters but rather call government attention.
22-year-old domestic worker found dead in his boss swimming pool
The body of the 22 year
old Onyeka Kingley Raphael was found in the bottom of a swimming pool in the
home he worked as a domestic help. His body was brought out from the pool early
Saturday morning in a house at Babatunde Asimi Street, Ogudu GRA.
His family, being
suspicious about the incident has petitioned the police, asking for a
thorough investigation. An eye witnesses said when Kingsley's body was removed
by policemen, there were no injuries on his body except a twisted neck, saying
that the domestic worker may have been strangled before being dumped in the
pool.
Nurse kills 80-year-old patient by accidentally injecting coffee into patient’s vein.
A 23-year-old nurse purportedly injected coffee and
milk into the veins of an 80-year-old patient at a clinic in Rio de Janeiro.
The elderly woman dies after the student nurse injected
the substance inside her vein. Though the nurse claimed it was a mistake and
later defended herself in a television interview and said “anyone can get
confused.”
The nurse had only three days experience and was
still under training when the incident happened. The patient died few hours
after the fluid was injected in her body.
According to Medical Daily Report, the nursing
student told the media that she had not been trained in the procedure of
administering the IV feed and she knew she was actually taking a risk.
“As the feed and blood drips were next to each
other, anyone can get confused. I injected the coffee and I putted it in the wrong
place.” Telles told Brazilian TV Globo’s Fantastico.
The nurse has been indicated for manslaughter along
with another professional nurse who was on duty at that time. The milky coffee
apparently travelled straight into the patient’s heart after she was injected
with it.

Nollywood actor Enebeli Elebuwa recovering in Indian hospital
Nollywood veteran actor Enebeli Elebuwa, that had
stroke late last year, is now in India receiving treatment. He was flown to
India a few weeks back by the Delta State Government through its Commissioner
of Culture, Richard Mofe Damijo. Enebeli in a phone conversation told a newsperson
that he's getting better and he can now stand unaided for few minutes for the
first time since the sickness started last year.

She said “The worst rumour I have heard about myself

reality TV show on cable TV. Jim Iyke Unscripted is a joint production of
Africa Magic and Oh Africa TV and will access all areas of the actor's life.
The reality TV show was announced by his UK-based management company, Greyology
Inc, and will show you a Jim Iyke you have never seen before. Jim Iyke
Unscripted will hit the screens in couple of weeks as the actor is said to have

Cossy set to release album
Nollywood actress, singer and dancer Cossy Orjiakor
this time is taking her music career to the next level. Cossy on a phone
conversation told E-Daily that she would be doing an album launch come December
15, 2012 and she plans to feature several notable acts in the album. Though she
declined to mention names but she promised that some of the names would be
names already making waves in the music industry.
She said “’I am putting finishing touches to the
album. I can assure you that the album launch would be on December 15th of this
year at the Prest Boat Cruise, Lekki. The album is a 15-track album. I am still
going to do small tidying up and work with other acts and producers.’’
Governor of Rivers State Acquires $45 Million Bombardier Jet
River State commissioner for information, Mrs. Ibim
Semenitari, has confirmed the purchase. The state bought a brand new $45.7million
Bombardier Global 5000 (N565RS) jet for Governor Chibuike Amaechi.
According to the commissioner, the jet was paid for
two years ago, and they bought it for 'safety reasons'. She said the governor
consulted the Rivers state House of Assembly and they approved the purchase. The
state commissioner said the old aircraft, an Embraer Legacy 600, will be sold.

Gospel Singer Rev Patty Obasi is Dead
Gospel musician Rev
Patty Obasi, from Mmaku in Agwu Local Government Area of Enugu
State, died on Friday October 28, 2012 after battling
with a serious illness for more than one year now. His two kidneys were said to
have failed and was recommended for a kidney transplant operation in India but he
could not make it for the opration due to lack of fund. His doctor said he
needed not less than N10million for the surgical procedure, he died in the
early hours of Friday after he slipped into unconciousness.
One of his sisters, that confirmed his death on phone conversation said Rev
Patty Obasi gave up after the prolonged sickness without undergoing the kidney
transplant his doctor recommended. Meanwhile, she could not state if any aid
finally came the way of the popular old time gospel musician who had cried out
to members of the public, the government and political office holders for financial
assistance to enable him embark on the kidney transplant. Listen to his song after the cut.
