Why I'm Moved To Shoot Movie About Niger-Delta – Actress Omotola Jalade

Omotola is presently busy shooting a new movie produced by Tarila Thompson titled 'Up Creek'. The movie, as we gathered, highlights the Niger-Delta region of Nigeria.

Speaking exclusively on why she chose to be in the movie, the beautiful and sexy mother of four revealed that she decided to act in the film because it is a nice flick.

When asked if she agreed to act in the film because it tells about her region, Ondo State as part of the Niger-Delta region, Omotola said that wasn't the major reason for taking up the role in the movie.

She had earlier tweeted on twitter, "Day 2! cont of shoot of the movie 'Up Creek'. If this movie no win Oscar Ehn?...the wahala no get pt 2!"

We learnt that so far, the shoot has been largely successful. Some of the scenes were shot at a jungle in Ikorodu, a suburb of Lagos State. Shoot for the movie started in Bayelsa State in 2012.

Lagos PPRO Ngozi Braide States Why Rape Cases Are Increasing in the Country

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Ngozi Braide blamed the unwillingness of some rape victims to prosecute the case for the increasing number of rape cases in Nigeria.

Braide said this in her recent interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos on Thursday.

“As long as rape victims and their parents refuse to show interest in prosecuting the case, the offenders will go scot-free and more of such crime will happen.

The victims of rape or defilement are the main witnesses the police need to send the offenders to prison.

Heba al-Shamary (name changed for security reasons) was released last week from an Iraqi prison where she spent the last four years.

“I was tortured and raped repeatedly by the Iraqi security forces,” she told Al Jazeera. “I want to tell the world what I and other Iraqi women in prison have had to go through these last years. It has been a hell.”

Heba was charged with terrorism, a fate faced by many Iraqis who are detained by security forces.

“I now want to explain to people what is occurring in the prisons that [Prime Minister Nouri al-] Maliki and his gangs are running,” Heba added. “I was raped over and over again, I was kicked and beaten and insulted and spit upon.”

A 15 year old California girl is being called courageous for quickly hiding in a closet and calling police when burglars arrived at her home, giving police time to arrive.

Doyin Oladipupo was home alone when she first heard the doorbell ring, followed by the security alarm, indicating that an intruder had made their way inside the home. That’s when the teenager went into action, taking off her shoes so that she wouldn’t make noise and grabbing a phone.

The quick thinking teen called her mother and 911 before heading to a closet to hide under a rack of clothes. While the 15 year old was in the closet, she remained on the line with the 911 dispatcher, providing the dispatcher with updates. Instead of talking, the 911 dispatcher allowed the teen to communicate with her by tapping on the phone. ‘Can you tell me you understand by tapping the phone …………?’ the dispatcher says. .

Prostitute Arrested for Trying to Eat Her Client's Pénis

Priscilla Vaughn, an escort, was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly attempting to bite off a client's genitals in Orlando, Florida.

According to CBS Miami, the victim hired Vaughn early in the evening. After eating dinner and drinking some alcohol, the two went back to the Crestwood Suites hotel where Vaughn reportedly took some Ecstasy. Shortly after, Vaughn tried eat the client's pénis and testicles. The victim was unable to get Vaughn off of him, however, she took his phone when he tried to call for help.

Fortunately, several hotel guests heard "screaming and growling" sounds coming from the room and called 911.

Nigerian writer, playwright, and poet Wole Soyinka commented on Cool FM (Lagos private radio station) on how devastated he is on Chinua Achebe’s death.

“I’m just devastated. I only heard about half an hour ago and I don’t want to say anything yet. I’m just devastated.” he said in an interview.

When asked in a recent interview with Vanguard if the rumour that they bought a private jet was true, P-Square replied:

"There is nothing like that. I guess because it was included in our list that whenever we are going for a specific show, the organsiers must provide us with a private jet. We had a deal with a private Jet Company which always hire their private jet to us whenever we are in need of it. It’s like; we have a private jet at our disposal. I remember, I once tweeted that a private jet has been included in our list. That was how people started speculating that Psquare has bought a private jet. But we always travel with the jet all the time.

They were also asked if they intend to buy a private jet someday and the duo replied:

To be honest with you, the way things are going, we are planning to buy one. And it’s not because of the cost implication of hiring a private jet, but the fact that we want to meet up with our concerts.

But why would the British government do that? They really expect the grandson of the King of Saudi to be locked up forever in Saudi?

Homosexual Prince Saud murdered his servant, Bandar Abdullah Abdulaziz in a London hotel on 15 February 2010 after the pair returned from a Valentine's Day night out. Just about two years after their wedding, Nollywood actor Chinedu Ikedieze famously known as Aki and his wife Nneoma, wowed many, especially his teeming fans with what could be described as their first public appearance.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar described the late Nigeria’s and Africa’s literary guru, Professor Chinua Achebe, as an icon of unmatched integrity and conviction.

In a tribute to the late Professor and author of the famous “Things Fall Apart”, the former Vice President recalled how Achebe forcefully rejected and condemned the July 2004 political crisis in Anambra State during, which thugs attempted to remove a democratically elected Governor on the orders of a godfather.

Based on his convictions and principle, Atiku said the late Professor rejected a national honour conferred on him by the former President Olusegun Obasanjo and President Goodluck Jonathan administrations.

Facebook has sparked fury after a graphic child porn video went viral on the social network, reportedly being 'shared' over 16,000 times.

Thousands of users logged onto their accounts last night to find the horrifying footage appear on their personal news feed and instantly took to Twitter to vent their disgust.

According to users who saw the clip, apparently of a young girl being abused by a grown man, it had already been shared over 16,000 times and received almost 4,000 'likes'.

Even more disturbingly, users then began uploading and sharing screen grabs of the video on Twitter in an apparent bid to alert fellow Twitterati of the horrifying content.

It’s not everyday that you meet two 100-year-old women. And when the two centenarians are twin sisters, then the excitement is palpable. That easily explains why this reporter found his way to Ijebu-Ode, the headquarters of the Ijebu nation, early on Wednesday.

A tarred, single carriageway leads to the address in Ijebu-Ode. The house, a one-storey building painted in cream and brown, hardly strikes the eyes as patently unusual. But then, inside this nondescript abode dwell two of Africa’s most unique personalities.

The occupants – Princess Esther Taiwo Olukoya and Princess Emily Kehinde Ogunde – are probably the first documented set of twins to clock 100 years on the continent. Last Saturday, the twins celebrated their centenary birthdays at Okun-Owa, a sleepy town in Odogbolu Local Government Area where they were born on March 13, 1913.

A female journalist with NTA Akure, Olubunmi Oke, was kidnapped yesterday Thursday March 21, 2013 by four unknown persons at her Oba-Ile residence Akure, Ondo State.

Bunmi was surrounded and took away by the gunmen as she drove into her residence after closing from work around 5pm yesterday. Her whereabouts’ is unknown as her abductors are yet to contact her family.

Professor Chinua Achebe is dead

Novelist, poet, critic, professor and the author of the most widely read book in Africa (Things Fall Apart) Professor Chinua Achebe 82-year-old died last night March 21, 2013 in a hospital in Boston, Massachusetts United States where he was said to have suffered from an undisclosed ailment.

A source close to the family said the professor had been ill for a while and was hospitalised in an undisclosed hospital in Boston.

The legend has gone home. May his soul rest in peace...Amen!
