Former Governor of Abia State Orji Uzor Kalu Not a Graduate of ABSU
Abia State press release
The chief press secretary to Abia state governor,
Ugochukwu Emezue has described as untrue allegation by the former governor of
the state, Uzor Kalu that chief TA Orji wants to revoke his degree certificate.
In a statement in Umuahia, Mr. Emezue stated that the former governor is not a
graduate of Abia state university as investigations have revealed.
According to Mr. Emezue,there was a petition against
the former governor alleging that he was not properly admitted into ABSU not to
talk of graduating. The petitioner claimed that Kalu arm-twisted the school
authorities to admit him while he was the governor following public outcry then
that the state governor was not a graduate.

MFM Pastor Kidnapped in Aba, Rescued in Owerri

Emmanuel Agbesi is the assembly pastor of the
Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries (MFM), South East Province Two
headquarters in Aba, Abia State. On Monday, February 18, 2013, he was abducted
by three men in Aba. He was heading to his church on Ndusoro Street, off Ngwa
Road in his Volkswagen Golf-car when the hoodlums stopped him at gun point. As
he stopped, the kidnappers jumped into his car and ordered him to drive towards
the Umangasi axis of the city. Having been warned he (pastor) should not do
anything funny or his life would be wasted, he obeyed them and that began his
ordeal.
This is his story: “On February 18, 2013, I was
coming from my house, No. 11 Ndusoro Street to the church. On getting to a
junction on the road early that morning, three men stopped me. I thought they
were policemen because they had guns. They asked me to open the door of my car.
I did and two of them went to the back seat and the third one sat in the front
with me and ordered me to move. While I was moving they hit me by the side with
guns, that I should move faster, I obeyed.

Robbers Kill 6 in Onitsha, 12 on danger list

Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers yesterday
afternoon killed seven persons while over 12 others sustained gunshot wounds at
Akwu-Ukwu, Ekwusigo council area of Anambra state. Saturday Sun gathered that
the dare-devil armed robbery gang in what looked like coordinated attacks on
travellers along Onitsha-Owerri Expressway opened fire on a commercial bus
coming from Owerri, killing four persons instantly while the driver lost
control of the vehicle resulting in an accident in which many occupants are
injured.
According to eyewitness account, "the armed robbers
trailed the vehicle to Akwa-Ukwu and when the driver didn’t stop to be robbed
they opened fire on the vehicle during which four persons lost their lives
while others sustained injuries from the accident. “The armed robbers tried to
stop the vehicle which we suspected belonged to Imo Transport Company, (ITC)
but the driver refused to stop and they opened fire on the vehicle killing four
persons on the spot while the driver lost control of the steering and the
vehicle skidded off the road and crashed leading to many other persons to
sustaining various degrees of injuries.”

Cross River Governor Liyel Imoke returns to Nigeria after 3 months
After three months away from Nigeria to receive
treatment for a supposedly minor health concern in the US, governor of Cross
River State, Senator Liyel Imoke is back in the country. He came into the
country around 6:50 yesterday evening via a British Airways flight. He will resume
office next week.

President Jonathan is eligible to run in 2015 - Abuja High Court
Abuja High Court this afternoon ruled that President
Jonathan is eligible to contest in the 2015 presidential election, if he wants
to. A lawyer, Mr Cyriacus Njoku had filed a suit challenging the president's
eligibility to contest in 2015.
Below is what the presiding judge, Justice Oniyangi,
said in his ruling...
"After the death of Umar Yar'Adua, there was no
election or bye election, President Jonathan was merely asked to assume the
office of the President in line with Doctrine of necessity. He was not elected
as the President but was made to assume office by virtue of Yar'Adua's death.”
“Having exhausted the late President's tenure, he
sought for his party's ticket and ran for the office of the President
successfully in 2011 general election. He is therefore currently serving his
first tenure of office and if he so wishes, he is eligible to further seek his
party's ticket through the party's primary election and to run for office in
2015, adding that President Jonathan’s tenure as President started in May 29,
2011, when he took the oath of office and not on May 6, 2010, when he assumed
office after Umaru Yar’Adua’s demise.”
Kidnappers abduct five Lagos bound passengers along Benin-Sagamu road
So robbing is not enough, they are now kidnapping
passengers on highways. According to Vanguard, 5 passengers on a Lagos-bound
vehicle were kidnapped on Wednesday morning by gunmen on the Lagos-Benin road
near Ogbemudia farms.
The passengers, traveling in a Greener Line space
wagon Siena bus travelling from Warri to Lagos ran into a barricade along the
Benin-Ore- Sagamu-Lagos road. The bus driver sighting the barricade, which was
a truck, slowed down.
Gunmen emerged from the bushes and took the
passengers hostage after allowing the driver and one passenger to go and give
information about the incident, Vanguard reports.

Court frees seven of the accused persons in Aluu4 case
Seven out of the 18 people arrested and standing
trial for the murder of the Aluu4 victims were yesterday discharged by a Port
Harcourt Chief Magistrates' Court. Their reason? Not enough evidence to suggest
they were involved in the killing.
Those discharged yesterday were: Chinwo Cynthia (the
only female suspect), George Nwadei, Ekpe Daniel, Gabriel Agburum, Finebone
Jeffrey, Endurance Edet and Gabriel Ochie.
The remaining 11 accused persons, including Alhaji
Hassan Walewa, the paramount ruler of Omuokiri-Aluu, will face trial for the
murder of Tekena Elkanah, Toku Lloyd, Chiadika Biringa and Ugonna Obuzor.

Hip hop artist Damino Damoche shot dead at LASU this afternoon
Upcoming hip hop artist, Olaniyan Damilola, popular
known as Damino Damoche, was shot dead this afternoon at Lagos State University
Ojo gate by people suspected to be cultist.
Damoshe was shot twice in the head and hand after he
finished writing a test at faculty of management science. He was a Banking and
Finance student at LASU. He was popular for his song - obo to she.
It’s a pity! May his soul rest in peace...amen.

They started building their new house at Parkview Estate June last year. According to a source close to the twins, the new house, which will also be a twin duplex like their Omole Estate home, will be called Squareville2. Squareville2 is costing them more than their Omole Estate mansion.
Heard they bought the land in Parkview Estate about N200million and will spend another N200m to build their dream home. They will be shuttling between their Omole home and this new one, which will be completed before the end of the year.

Music producer Samklef involved in car crash
The top music producer and singer was involved in a
car crash in the early hours of today February 28, around the Anthony area of
Lagos. His car was seriously damaged but luckily he was not injured including
the other occupants of the car.

Man kills mum, cut into pieces and scatters her body parts in garbage bags across town
A schizophrenic South Bronx man confessed Tuesday to
dismembering his mom and scattering her body parts in garbage bags across the
South Bronx, police sources said.
Deranged suspect Bashid McLean, 23 (pictured right),
implicated himself in the gruesome death after investigators recovered a saw
inside the apartment where he lived with victim Tanya Byrd (pictured right) and
his 7-year-old brother, Nasyr.
Cops also found a shopping cart used to lug
52-year-old Byrd’s severed body parts from their home to four locations within
walking distance of the murder scene, police sources said.

One of 2face Idibia's baby mamas, Sunmbo Ajaba, is
set to wed the senior pastor at Royal Christian Centre, David Adeoye. Their
wedding has been fixed for Saturday May 4, 2013. Their court wedding will hold
Thursday May 2nd at the Ikoyi registry. They already held their introduction
ceremony.
David and Sunmbo have been friends for many years
but their friendship changed after David lost his wife, Folake Adeoye in
November 2011. Sunmbo is one of the active members in pastor Adeoye's church
and is a committed choir member who leads the praise and worship. Her event
company handles most of the church events. Congrats to them!

Akeem Sodeinde shuts down club as he battles diabetes
Akeem Sodeinde now and before
The Movida nightclub front man has shut down his
highly patronized night club as he battles with diabetes and kidney related
diseases. The club was being run by his brother while Akeem tried to get
better, but for reasons not made public, the club was shut down last week
Friday...prompting the death rumour.
"I am alive, hale and hearty,' the once bulky
businessman said 'Though I have been sick for some time now and that's known to
people. Death is not my portion'.
Akeem has lost a lot of weight since falling sick
and now supports himself with a walking stick to move around. Close friends
believe he will get better soon as he is currently undergoing comprehensive
medical treatment.

CCTV punch attacks: Nigerian Michael Ayoade jailed for 4 years
The 35-year-old Nigerian man Michael Ayoade who was
caught on CCTV punching a teenage girl and a female student leaving them
unconscious on the ground has been jailed for four years.
Michael attacked female student, Daniela Montieth,
in 2011, without any provocation. She was taken to the hospital with a broken
tooth after he hit her in the side of the head at Plaistow tube station. Then
on November 13, 2012 he jogged up behind a 16-year-old girl in the High Street
and punched her in the head. The teenager fell to the ground, breaking three of
her teeth. (Pictured above)
Ayoade was arrested shortly after the attack on the
teenager
During his trial, Ayoade said the teenager had
"looked at him in a rude way" and that he could not go through the
rest of the day having taken "an insult from a little person like that."
Ayoade was yesterday sentenced to four years in
prison for the attack on the teenager and 19 months for punching the student.
The two sentences will run simultaneously.
Missing engineer, Akanbi Oluwatoyin, found dead in Ifo, Ogun State
A week after oil engineer Akanbi Oluwatoyin was declared missing by his family, he has been found dead in Ifo Ogun State according to a family member.
Akanbi and his silver 2008 Highlander with plate no:
SMK975AS went missing around 5:30am on Monday February 18, 2013 on his way to
work. His corpse was found in Ifo on Monday by the police but his car was not
found. Akanbi worked with an oil company in Lekki and had to do business in
Ogun State on that fateful day, so friends believe he was driven there and
killed.
The police are currently investigating his death. So
sad! May his soul rest in peace… Amen
