Relations officer Mr Vitalis Onugu has revealed the
identities of the suspected murderers of the Former Director Of Protocol to Imo
Deputy Governor, Laz Anyanwu.
Two men Udoka Ibe from Ikeduru Local Government and
Chigaemezu Onyewenu from Mbaitoli Local Government both from Imo State have
been nabbed by the Police and identified as the killers of the Late Mr Laz
Anyanwu former director of protocol to the deputy Governor of Imo State, Jude
Agbaso.
Mr. Laz Anyanwu was declared missing Saturday,
January 12 and his mutilated body was later found at Orodo, Mbaitoli local
council area of Imo State.

While Parading the suspects at the Imo State Police
Command headquarters in Owerri the Imo state capital, the Imo state Police
Public relations officer Mr Vitalis Onugu said on getting the information of
the murder, the command immediately swung into action and informed the Special
Anti-Robbery Squad in Anambra state to also assist them in apprehending the
killers.
Mr Vitalis Onugu disclosed that the suspects were arrested
less than 2 weeks after the incident.
The suspects were apprehended at their residence in
Mbaitoli Local government area where three AK 47 rifles, 280 rounds of
ammunition and 23 magazines were also recovered from them.
Meanwhile the suspects confirmed that they truly
killed Mr Laz, who tried to wrestle the gun with them when he was kidnapped.
However, the police promised to make further investigations on the matter and
fish out their sponsors.
Mr Laz Anyanwu former director of protocol to the
Imo state deputy Governor was gruesomely murdered last month was laid to rest
yesterday at his country home in Amaimo in Ikeduru Local government area of Imo
state.
