Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi says his dressing room
was a stormy place after the opening day draw against Burkina Faso as players
argued and quarrelled.
The Super Eagles gave up a late goal after leading
for over an hour, and Keshi said he did not have to yell at the players.
“They did the job themselves. After the match they
shouted, they quarrelled, they told themselves the truth. Continue after the cut...
“But by the time we got to the hotel, they were
friends again, playing tennis, table soccer and teasing each other.
“So that let me know that they are up for it. They
know when they make mistakes and what they need to do to rectify it.”
As the Super Eagles prepare to meet Zambia in their
second group game on Friday, Keshi says his team are motivated
“They are angry at themselves for the first result.
They know they dropped the ball and they want to make amends.
“We don’t expect it to be an easy game, but the
players know what they have to do.”
