Nollywood actress, Nkiru Sylvanus, who was abducted
last Saturday (December 15, 2012), in Owerri, was last night freed by her
abductors. Also freed was Kenneth Okolie (Mr. Nigeria 2010), who had also been
abducted along with her and Nkiru Sylvanus assistant Uche. Nkiru and Kenneth had been working on a movie,
at the time of their abduction.
According to reports, they were blindfolded by their
abductors and dropped off in an unfamiliar location, from where they were
rescued. The Commissioner of Police for Imo State, Mr. Adisa Bolanta, has said
that the police were instrumental to the release of the duo. The abductors had
earlier demanded a ransom of 100 million naira for the release of the actress,
but it is not certain if a ransom was paid.
