Gunmen Seize French Man in Katsina

A group of gunmen, numbering about 30, have broken into a well-guarded compound in Katsina, in Northwest Nigeria, and have seized a French man working as an engineer in the city which is the capital of Katsina, the home state of former President Umaru Yar'adua whose death led to President Jonathan's ascension to the Presidency.

Two locals were killed in the attack, while a police man was injured.

It is not yet known if the kidnapping has been done for monetary reasons or if it is part of the terrorist’s activities of the Islamic terrorist sect, Boko Haram, who have not been active in Katsina.
