Actors Protest Abduction of Nkiru Sylvanus and Kenneth Okolie

By now, it is widely known that popular Nollywood actress, Nkiru Sylvanus was abducted last Saturday (December 15, 2012) in Owerri – and a 100 million naira ransom demanded for her release. It has also emerged that Kenneth Okolie (Mr. Nigeria 2010), was abducted along with her. The two were working on a movie, which was being shot in  Owerri, when they were abducted.

Meanwhile, members of the South-East chapter of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, staged a peaceful rally yesterday (December 18, 2012), to call for the release of the kidnapped actress. The actors, accompanied by the parents of the actress, visited the Imo State govenment house, where they called on the Imo State government to do something very fast to secure the release of the actress.

The Imo State Government has offered a substantial reward to anyone to with useful information on the whereabouts of the actress. She currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the Imo State Governor on Public Affairs.
