The commissioner of police Kano State Mr. Idris
Ibrahim, on Wednesday last week said the police have recovered Maryam Abacha’s stolen
jewelries worth N20million. Mr. Idris said that one of the suspects that bought
some of the jewelries was arrested and his arrest led to the discovery of the
remaining items. Though the case is before a court in Kano and one of Mrs.
Abacha’s domestic staff is being accused of stealing the jewelries. The police
commissioner said the jewelries will be in their custody as they continue with
the investigation.
