El-Rufai Criticizes President Goodluck Jonathan’s 52nd Independence Anniversary Speech

Mallam Nasir Elrufai the former minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, yesterday, made a statement regarding President Goodluck Jonathan’s 52nd Independence Anniversary 18 minutes speech saying “its 18 minutes of false claims of accomplishments no one can see or feel, and promises that no one believes will be fulfilled.” He also criticized the one year prayer project the President flagged off by saying “instead of engaging Nigerians on it and spending money on the project, President Jonathan must deliver on dividends of democracy by providing the needed infrastructure for Nigerians to enjoy.”  And “that is the tragedy of our nation today. That is why a country which constitution does not recognize any ‘state religion’ has resorted to a year of publicly-funded prayer project, instead of the harder work of providing inclusive leadership, honesty and integrity by example.”

Well, to me engaging Nigerians on prayer for the Nation is good because that is exactly what Nigeria need at this stage. With the high level of mishaps happening in our Nation, we have to seek the face of God for forgiveness. But it must not involve money, you can pray in your church, mosque and home.  It’s just to make it as a prayer point whenever you are praying.

God bless Nigeria!
